This is my little corner of the blogosphere– fun, a little nerdy, a little witty, and sometimes pretty random. Just like me.
A little bit about the title: I saw a plug for Selma Blair’s show, “Kath and Kim”, in which her dad asks, “So, what do you do?” To which she responds, “Duh! I’m a trophy wife!” (Insert eye roll here.) The BF and I thought that was quite amusing, and after many giggles (me) and snorts (him), I announced that my new career path had been laid out. BF said, “But I want a Renaissance trophy wife!” and a blog was born.
So there you go.
As a disclaimer, I have absolutely nothing against trophy wives. In fact, who hasn’t dreamed about doing whatever you want all day while being supported by a black AMEX? (I’d rather it be my own black AMEX, but hey, you do what you can.)
I enjoy my independence, but not the raging-feminist brand. I also love my incredible BF and our very human relationship, but am not into the whole co-dependent thing (cf: masochism). And, I happen to think that I can have it all– cool career, great family, well-adjusted kids, and enough challenges to spice things up. So, maybe that does make me a wannabe Renaissance trophy wife?
In any case, these are my musings, varying widely from the mundane to insightful. Enjoy the ride!
