Quick post, will be back to the California Love series later… but this is what we had for dinner:
Turkey sliders!
Turkey is a little harder to work with than beef, since it’s leaner and more prone to falling apart, but the recipe I used came out pretty moist.
For every 1lb of ground turkey, add:
1 tbsp lite mayo
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 packet (unflavored) instant oatmeal
1 egg
season to taste (I used ~2 tsp chopped fresh basil, 1 tsp marjoram, 3/4 tsp chopped garlic– gotta love Trader Joe’s!)
Mix it all up, make your patties (I made 8, will likely try for 10 next time), and serve on toasted buns (I used brioche hot dog buns cut in 1/3rds since they didn’t have baby buns at the store). Stand back before the hordes descend!
Beware, sl. messy finger food, but that’s the fun, right? I set it up like a slider bar as an excuse to use some of my cute dishes.
- Deviled eggs
- Turkey slider, brioche bun
- heirloom tomatoes, avocado, lettuce
- Condiments — I love this dish from Crate & Barrel
Now, off to dessert…
