Ok. Fashion week coverage is a little out of hand… I like cute stuff as much as the next girl, but not to the tune of $3k tops while the market tanks and unemployment spirals out of control. Entertaining? Eh, somewhat. Practical? Hells no. Next spring these hype surrounding these runways will be a distant memory, as Cheap JAP points out. (Now that’s a chica with style!)
Out of the mouth of Miguel Adrover, one of the designers: “You don’t feel like digging for meaning right now in fashion, because you dig and dig, and you don’t find nothing.” Who else is going to know better than an insider?
It’s not about what you’re wearing, it’s how you wear it.
Fashion is about innovation, translating into trends that often don’t stick around– the elements of fashion just give you the tools to express your style. Style is about you, how comfortable you are with what you’re in, and how confident it makes you feel. And that, as Mastercard would say, is priceless.
So yeah. Enjoy fashion week, but don’t get sucked in.
