The qualities of a classic RTW buy are 1) inexpensive for the value, and 2) makes you look fantastic. I think this qualifies!

My first principle of shopping: delayed gratification is your friend– figure out what you want, then wait until it goes on clearance.
Case in point, my new TEVAs. On vacation we tend spend a fair amount of time around water, but sometimes you want to get out and be more active, you know what I mean? Anyways, after we hiked the Napali Coast Trail in Kauai (super hilly, gorgeous views, and wet mud everywhere), I figured I should get myself some decent water-friendly hiking sandals. Kauai is one of our favorite vacation destinations, so I’m sure I’ll get good use out of a purchase… plus water sandals, although ugly, are really helpful in places like South American rainforests, Southeast Asia, etc.
