HealthyToys.org is a database that allows you to check the lead content of toys– and already, controversy is brewing over their findings. According to their analyses,
17 percent [of over 15,000 tested toys] had levels of lead above the 600 parts-per-million federal standard that would cause a recall of lead paint. Thirty-three percent of jewelry examined contained levels above 600. The study found 28 percent of toys tested negative for dangerous chemicals.
Good for the 28% of toy manufacturers who managed to do their job well, without endangering future generations. WTF are the rest doing?
