In the first post about wine tasting basics, I discussed the types of wines you might encounter. The process of drinking wine is its own little ritual, so here’s how to navigate through like a pro.
One of the most common settings for drinking wine is a social event, whether at a cocktail party, happy hour, or drinks with dinner. But does the sommelier really expect you to decipher a wine list the size of a phone book? Yes and no. Your job is to have an opinion; their job is to help select a wine you might like, based on your personal preferences, budget, and meal.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe New Year, and best wishes for a great 2009!
I’m pretty excited because there have been a couple new developments… Despite the economy, I got promoted, and now have a new set of responsibilities along with a cute little office.
